As an egg donor, you will be making a selfless effort to help other women who are unable to produce their own eggs. The best part? By using your young, healthy eggs, another woman will be able to achieve a successful pregnancy through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Bottom line: Because of your gift of life, your eggs will help other women carry a pregnancy to full term and become new mothers.

Young women who become egg donors must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be between the age of 18 and 28
  • Be in excellent health – nonsmoker with a normal body weight
  • Be free from any known familial, genetic, or sexually transmitted diseases
  • Pass all psychological, medical, and genetic testing required by the egg donor program

ABC’s of Egg Donation

Your egg donation cycle will be ABC easy. Here’s the deal: A typical egg donation cycle can be completed within one to two months – from application to egg retrieval.

  • A – Apply by completing our prescreening application. This will help us determine if you are a potential candidate.
  • B – Be screened by our egg donor coordinator who will call you to schedule your first visit with us. At your office visit, you will undergo blood testing and a consultation with our egg donor coordinator.
  • C – Complete the egg retrieval process by undergoing a fresh IVF cycle. You will undergo a regimen of prescribed hormone injections that stimulate the ovaries into producing multiple egg follicles. Once mature, these egg follicles will be surgically retrieved by the doctor in an outpatient procedure.

Become an Egg Donor

Internationally renowned fertility specialist, Dr. John Zhang, spearheads New Hope’s Egg Donor Program. Our program helps couples who are unable to conceive a child due to poor egg quality or inability to produce eggs. It can’t be emphasized enough. We carefully screen donors and protects the privacy of both egg donor and recipient parents throughout the entire donation process. We are vigilant in handling delicate matters involved in the egg donation experience.

Young, Healthy, Active Donors

Our donors are successful because they are young women living healthy, active lives. To ensure egg recipients receive the highest quality eggs, donors undergo strict screening.

Critical inquiry of donors entails:

  • Physical examination
  • Pap smear
  • Psychological screening
  • Psychological counseling
  • Genetic screening
  • Infectious disease testing
  • Substance abuse screening

Profile of Egg Donation Recipients

More women than ever are using egg donors as they keep delaying childbearing until long past the age when their own eggs are healthy. What’s the real story? Delaying motherhood has helped fuel an increased demand for egg donors by first-time mothers over the age of 40 – whose numbers have quadrupled over the past 30 years.

Grateful beneficiaries of egg donation include women suffering from:

  • Premature ovarian failure
  • Poor quality or no egg production
  • No ovaries with an intact uterus
  • Prevention of a genetic condition from being passed on to the child
  • Menopause
  • Chemotherapy history
  • Genetic disease history
  • Multiple IVF failures

That’s not all. Egg donation is also an avenue for same-sex male couples to conceive a child biologically related to one of the partners through gestational surrogacy.

World Renowned Egg Donor Program

Egg donors are engaged women who are full of empathy for others. It has become a common trend for first-time egg donors to repeat their donation because they have found the experience so rewarding. They realize the appreciativeness and joy their egg donation brought to an infertile couple. The role of an egg donor truly makes a difference in the lives of others – for a lifetime.
